How Do You Do It? by Beth Crowley

I've been
Walking a tightrope
Wearing a blindfold
Trying to keep my balance

Meanwhile
You're out there acting
Like I never happened
Why would you be so callous?

And everybody's expecting
Time will just let me
Find a way to carry on

How do you do it?
You make it look easy
Being without me
I'm going through it
Can't get you off my mind

Tell me your secret
'Cause I'm tired of crying
If this is one-sided
Apparently there's nothing to it
So how do you do it?

All my
Days are too quiet
Deafening silence
Hangs over every moment

Colors
Turn a shade grayer
As we become strangers
You hardly seem to notice

It feels like I've got my hands tied
It's not a fair fight
And you've known it from the start

How do you do it?
You make it look easy
Being without me
I'm going through it
Can't get you off my mind

Tell me your secret
'Cause I'm tired of crying
If this is one-sided
Apparently there's nothing to it
So how do you do it?

I might be bitter and lonely
But you would never guess
I'm putting on a performance
'Cause I learned from the best

How do you do it?
You make it look easy
Being without me
I'm going through it
Can't get you off my mind

Tell me your secret
'Cause I'm tired of crying
If this is one-sided
Apparently there's nothing to it
So how do you do it?

Runaway Train by Beth Crowley

I saw the writing on the wall
In fact you painted me a picture
And I don't know why I cared
Enough to mold myself to fit you

My heart is a runaway train
Speeds so fast that I can't catch it
Is the pleasure worth the pain?
When did I become so reckless?

I've never been that good at love
I tell myself that I don't need it
But I just can't stay away
I want so badly to believe it

My heart is a runaway train
Speeds so fast that I can't catch it
Is the pleasure worth the pain?
When did I become so reckless?

Another note in the middle of the night
Saying "I can't stay but I promise you I tried
...You're gonna be fine"
So I take your things and I shove them in a closet
Swear I'm done but I always break my promise
In case this one's it

My heart is a runaway train
Speeds so fast that I can't catch it
Is the pleasure worth the pain?
When did I become so reckless?
When did I become so reckless?
