Miracles by Jefferson Starship

I didn't realize how many Jefferson Starship/Airplane songs that I knew until I was putting this playlist together, which I guess isn't to surprising, considering they were popular when I was a very small child. This is one of those songs that comes on and you remember just how much you enjoy it.

If only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I

I might have to move heaven and earth
To prove it to you, baby (Baby)
So we're makin' love
And you feel the power
And I feel the power
Then there's really nothing we can't do
(You know we could, you know we could)
If we wanted to, baby
(You know we could, you know we could)
We could exist on the stars
It'd be so easy

Now, baby
All we gotta do (Baby, baby, baby, oh, baby)
Is get a little faith in you (Baby, baby)
Oh, I've been so many places
I've seen some things (Yes, I have)
I know love is the answer (Yes, it is)
Keeps holding this world together, yeah
Ain't nothing better
Ain't nothing better (Nothing's better)
And all the answers to our prayers
Hell, it's the same everywheres, baby (Just the same now)
Nothing ever breaks up the heart (Love's a game now)
Only tears give you away (Ain't it a shame now?)

Then you're right where I found ya (Oh, baby)
With my arms around ya (Oh, baby)
O-o-o-o-o-o-oh, baby
Baby, baby
Love is a magic word, ooh, yeah (Baby)
Few ever find in a lifetime
But from that very first look in your eyes
I knew you and I had but one heart (Baby)
Only our bodies were apart (It's making me crazy)
That was so easy (Baby)
So easy (Oh, baby)
I had a taste of the real world (Didn't waste a drop of it)
When I went down on you, girl

Oh, if only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I

I can hear windmills and rainbows
Whenever you're talkin' to me (Never say never)
I feel like swirling and dancin'
Whenever you're walking with me (Whenever you're walking with me)
You ripple like a river when I touch you (Let me touch you)
When I pluck your body like a string (Show you what I mean)
When I start dancin' inside ya (Oh, baby)
You make me wanna sing (I love you so)
Yeah (I love you so)
Baby (I love you so)
Baby (I love you so)
Baby (I love you so)
Baby (Oh)

Oh, yeah (Oh, yeah)
All right (All right)
Baby, we're sure doin' it tonight (Baby, we're sure doin' it)
Every time you come by, let me try (Come on by)
Pretty please with sugar on it
That's how I like it, ooh
I can't even believe it with you
It's like having every dream I ever wanted come true (Dream of a lifetime)
I picked up your vibes
You know, it opened my eyes (Dream of a lifetime)
But I'm still dreamin', yeah (Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, oh)
And you're right where I found ya (Oh, baby)
With my arms around ya (Oh, baby)

Oh, if only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I
So would I
So would I

Oh, if only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (If only you believe like I believe)
We'd get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (If only you believe in miracles)
So would I

Carry Me Down by Demon Hunter

Actually, I don't think I've heard this song before so I assume it is a song that my daughter added to my playlist. It wasn't bad, although when I Googled it for this post, I was surprised to see it was Christian, I'm pretty sure my daughter probably doesn't realize that.

And if you see me losing ground
Don't be afraid to lie
I know the pain inside my heart can't break the fear inside of yours
And if you see me losing faith
In what it means to die
Don't let me leave before I know what lies behind the stained glass doors

Save sorrow for the souls in doubt
Bleed every care out

[Chorus:]
Will you carry me down the aisle that final day
With your tears and cold hands shaking from the weight
When you lower me down beneath that sky of gray
Let the rain fall down and wash away your pain

For every word we never spoke
We have a tear to cry
For every silence like a wall between a better you and I
So if you see me losing sight
Of all the death in life
You'll find the peace in every time I failed to see the death in mine

Let all the fear inside you drown
Tear out the blade and lay it down
Save sorrow for the souls in doubt
Bleed every care out

[Chorus]

Oh, the blood is rushing out
Oh, I'm better off without
Oh, the walls are closing in
Oh, sing for me again

[Chorus]
(Rain down, oh rain down, no care for the flood)

  • This is the 78th song on this blog.
  • This is the first song by Demon Hunter on this blog.
  • This is the fourth song released in 2007 on this blog.
  • This is the twelfth song listed in the Christian genre on this blog.
One more song and we would have finally had a song from the group that has the most songs on this blog, but alas, you'll have to wait a little longer.

Stupify by Disturbed

A great song to jam to, crank it up and belt it out, especially the scream part. When I think of Disturbed, I remember a story a friend told me. He was in the military overseas and they came and played for the troops, which I think is awesome but he said that the band ate in the mess hall and actually sat at his table. He said they were pretty awesome and very down to earth.

This album is listed on my Albums I've Owned page.

Yeah, bringing you another disturbing creation
from the mind of one sick animal who can't tell the difference
and gets stupified

I've been waiting my whole life for just one fuck
And all I needed was just one fuck
How can you say that you don't give a fuck
I find myself stupified, coming back again
All I wanted was just one fuck
One tiny little innocent fuck
And when I feel like I'm shit out of luck
I find myself stupified, coming back again

Why, do you like playing around with
My, narrow scope of reality
I, can feel it all start slipping
I think I'm breaking down

Why, do you like playing around with
My, narrow scope of reality
I, can feel it all start slipping away
See but I don't get it
Don't you think maybe we could put it on credit
Don't you think it can take control when I don't let it
I get stupified
It's all the same you say
Live with it

But I don't get it
Don't you think maybe we could put it on credit
Don't you think it can take control when I don't let it
I get stupified [x2]

All the people in the left wing rock
And all the people in the right wing rock
And all the people in the underground rock
I find myself stupified, coming back again
All the people in the high rise rock
And all the people in the projects rock
And all la gente in the barrio rock
I find myself stupified, coming back again

Why, do you like playing around with
My, narrow scope of reality
I, can feel it all start slipping
I think I'm breaking down

Why, do you like playing around with
My, narrow scope of reality
I, can feel it all start slipping away
See but I don't get it
Don't you think maybe we could put it on credit
Don't you think it can take control when I don't let it
I get stupified
It's all the same you say
Live with it

But I don't get it
Don't you think maybe we could put it on credit
Don't you think it can take control when I don't let it
I get stupified [x2]

[Hebrew:] Tefached
[English translation: "Be scared"]

And don't deny me
No baby now, don't deny me
And darlin' don't be afraid...

But I don't get it
Don't you think maybe we could put it on credit
Don't you think it can take control when I don't let it
I get stupified

Look in my face, stare in my soul
I begin to stupify. Ah! [x4]
Look in my face, step in my soul [x4]
Look in my face! [x3]
I begin to stupify! Ah!

19 You + Me by Dan + Shay

I couldn't even tell you where I heard this song first. I probably heard it in my wife's car as she regularly listens to country music but I could have also ran into it on Spotify. Who knows? What I do know, is that I liked the song when I heard it and added it to the playlist.

It was our first week
At Myrtle Beach
Where it all began

It was 102°
Nothin' to do
Man it was hot
So we jumped in

We were summertime sippin', sippin'
Sweet tea kissin' off of your lips
T-shirt drippin', drippin' wet
How could I forget?

Watchin' that blonde hair swing
To every song I'd sing
You were California beautiful
I was playin' everything but cool
I can still hear that sound
Of every wave crashin' down
Like the tears we cried
That day we had to leave
It was everything we wanted it to be
The summer of
19 you and me

We had our first dance in the sand
It was one hell of a souvenir
Tangled up, so in love
So, let's just stay right here

'Til the sun starts creepin', creepin' up
Right then I knew
Just what you were thinkin', thinkin' of
When I looked at you

Watchin' that blonde hair swing
To every song I'd sing
You were California beautiful
I was playin' everything but cool
I can still hear that sound
Of every wave crashin' down
Like the tears we cried
That day we had to leave
It was everything we wanted it to be
The summer of
19 you and me
...you and me

Watchin' that blonde hair swing
To every song I'd sing
You were California beautiful
Beautiful, beautiful

Watchin' that blonde hair swing
To every song I'd sing
You were California beautiful
I was playin' everything but cool
I can still hear that sound
Of every wave crashin' down
Like the tears we cried
That day we had to leave
It was everything we wanted it to be
The summer of
19 you and me

First week
Myrtle Beach
Where it all began..

Cross of Gold by Michael W. Smith

The second song from this album on this blog. Don't worry, there will probably be plenty more. This was one of the last albums I owned by him before I stopped listening to Christian music. Really good lyrics that a lot of people should listen to.

This album is listed on the Albums I've Owned page.

Where do you stand
What is your statement
What is it you're trying to say

What's in your hand
What's in your basement
What's in the cards you don't play

Are you holding the key
Or are you intending
To pick the lock of heaven's gate

It's confusing to me
The message you're sending
And I don't know if I can relate

What's your line
Tell me why you wear your cross of gold
State of mind
Or does it find a way into your soul

Is it a flame
Is it a passion
A symbol of love living in you
(Living in you)

Or is it a game
Religion in fashion
Some kind of phase you're going through

We all travel the extremes
From cellar to rafter
Looking for a place in the sun

So I'm trying to see
What you're headed after
But I don't know where you're coming from

Whoa, oh, what's your line
Tell me why you wear your cross of gold
State of mind
Or does it find a way into your soul

What's your line
Tell me why you wear your cross of gold

For some it's simply something
To wear around your neck
Just a chain, jewelry
It's a decoration, it's an icon, a proclamation
An icon of what
For some it's simply something
To wear around your neck, just a chain
It means a lot more than that to me

What's your line
Tell me why you wear your cross of gold
State of mind
Or does it find a way into your soul

What's your line
Tell me why you wear your cross of gold
State of mind
Or does it find a way into your soul

Wanna tell me why, please tell me why
You wear your cross of gold

Someone Like You by Adele

I like Adele but what I didn't like it she wouldn't release her newest album on Spotify. Hello got released but that was it but I haven't checked it recently to see if she ever did let it go. There are a few artists who don't allow their stuff on Spotify so I usually use cover bands if I can find decent ones. Like I said though, she has some great songs and most of them are hits.

I heard that you're settled down
That you found a girl and you're married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you.

Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I had hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over.

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"

You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I'd hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over.

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead."

Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead".

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead."

Man in the Box by Alice in Chains

This is one of those songs that I really liked back when I started to listen to Rock. You'll have to check out my memories page to see why. Either way, I've always liked this song.

This song is listed on the Memories page.

I'm the man in the box
Buried in my shit
Won't you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit
Won't you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

Big Shots by Billy Joel

Wow! Look at that cover. I would have guessed this as an 80s song but apparently it was pre-80s. I had his greatest hits album that came out in the 80's so I tend to lump most of those songs with that genre. I'll still list this as Classic Rock though

Well you went uptown riding in your limousine
With your fine Park Avenue clothes
You had the Dom Perignon in your hand
And the spoon up your nose
And when you wake up in the morning
With your head on fire
And your eyes too bloody to see
Go on and cry in your coffee
But don't come bitchin' to me

Because you had to be a big shot, didn't you
You had to open up your mouth
You had to be a big shot, didn't you
All your friends were so knocked out
You had to have the last word, last night
You know what everything's about
You had to have a white hot spotlight
You had to be a big shot last night

They were all impressed with your Halston dress
And the people that you knew at Elaine's
And the story of your latest success
Kept 'em so entertained
Aw but now you just can't remember
All the things you said
And you're not sure you want to know
I'll give you one hint, honey
You sure did put on a show

Yes, yes, you had to be a big shot, didn't you
You had to prove it to the crowd
You had to be a big shot, didn't you
All your friends were so knocked out
You had to have the last word, last night
You're so much fun to be around
You had to have the front page, bold type
You had to be a big shot last night

Well, it's no big sin to stick your two cents in
If you know when to leave it alone
But you went over the line
You couldn't see it was time to go home
No, no, no, no, no, no, you had to be a big shot, didn't you
You had to open up your mouth
You had to be a big shot, didn't you
All your friends were so knocked out
You had to have the last word, last night
So much fun to be around
You had to have a white hot spot light
You had to be a big shot last night

Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan

I have a few songs of his on my album, I probably like a whole lot more if I took the time to listen to some of his albums.

Well you've heard about love givin' sight to the blind
My baby's lovin' cause the sun to shine
She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby, my heart and soul
Love like ours won't never grow old
She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby, she's long and lean
You mess with her, you'll see a man gettin' mean
She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

Well I love my baby like the finest wine
Stick with her until the end of time
She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby, my heart and soul
Love like ours will never grow old
She's my sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy
She's my sweet little baby, I'm her little lover boy

Give Me A Sign by Breaking Benjamin

You'll definitely see more Breaking Benjamin here. I stumbled on to them when I was listening to the radio (pre-streaming music). I don't remember which song but I liked what I heard and have ended up adding a bunch of their songs.

Dead star shine
Light up the sky
I'm all out of breath
My walls are closing in
Days go by
Give me a sign
Come back to the end
The shepherd of the damned

I can feel you falling away

No longer the lost
No longer the same
And I can see you starting to break
I'll keep you alive
If you show me the way
Forever, and ever
The scars will remain
I'm falling apart
Leave me here forever in the dark

Daylight dies
Blackout the sky
Does anyone care?
Is anybody there?
Take this life
Empty inside
I'm already dead
I'll rise to fall again

I can feel you falling away

No longer the lost
No longer the same
And I can see you starting to break
I'll keep you alive
If you show me the way
Forever, and ever
The scars will remain
I'm falling apart
Leave me here forever in the dark

God help me I've come undone
Out of the light of the sun
God help me I've come undone
Out of the light of the sun

I can feel you falling away

No longer the lost
No longer the same
And I can see you starting to break
I'll keep you alive
If you show me the way
Forever, and ever
The scars will remain

Give me a sign
There's something buried in the words
Give me a sign
Your tears are adding to the flood
Just give me a sign
There's something buried in the words
Give me a sign
Your tears are adding to the flood
Just give me a sign
There's something buried in the words
Give me a sign
Your tears are adding to the flood

Forever, and ever
The scars will remain

Love Me Do by the Beatles

Well lookey there, another Beatles song. I told you there would be plenty of their music, I just didn't realize how quickly they would come up.

Love, love me do
You know I love you
I'll always be true
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Love, love me do
You know I love you
I'll always be true
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Someone to love
Somebody new
Someone to love
Someone like you

Love, love me do
You know I love you
I'll always be true
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Love, love me do
You know I love you
I'll always be true
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do
Yeah, love me do
Whoa, oh, love me do

  • This is the 68th song on this blog.
  • This is the third song by the Beatles on this blog.
  • This is the first song released in 1963 on this blog.
  • This is the fifth song listed in the Classic Rock genre.
This is now the oldest song on this blog and it also makes the Beatles the first artist with 3 songs. I find that funny because I have multiple artists with 20+ songs on my playlist and I haven't even hit one yet. Oh well, blame it on Spotify.

Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi

I love this song but I think that's because I loved these movies. This definitely won't be the only Bon Jovi song you'll hear here. Even though this was released in 1990, it's getting put in the 80's genre because that's what I though it was.

I wake up in the morning
And I raise my weary head
I've got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind, yeah

When you're brought into this world
They say you're born in sin
Well at least they gave me something
I didn't have to steal or have to win
Well, they tell me that I'm wanted
Yeah, I'm a wanted man
I'm a colt through your stable
I'm what Cain was to Abel
Mister catch me if you can

I'm going down (down) in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out (out) in a blaze of glory
And Lord, I never drew first but I drew first blood
I'm no one's son, call me young gun

You ask about my conscience
And I offer you my soul
You ask if I'll grow to be a wise man
Well I ask if I'll grow old
You ask me if I've known love
And what it's like to sing songs in the rain
Well I've seen love come, I've seen it shot down
I've seen it die in vain

Shot down (down) in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
'Cause I'm going down (down) in a blaze of glory
Lord, I never drew first but I drew first blood
I'm the devil's son, call me young gun, na... yeah

[Guitar solo]

Each night I go to bed
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No I ain't looking for forgiveness
But before I'm six foot deep
Lord, I gotta ask a favor
And I hope you'll understand
'Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let this boy's die like a man
Staring down a bullet
Let me make my final stand

Shot down (down) in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out (out) in a blaze of glory
Lord, I never drew first but I drew first blood
I'm no one's son, call me young gun
I'm a young gun, yeah
Young gun, yeah..., Young gun

Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park

I have a bunch of Linkin Park but the majority of it is from their earlier albums, back when I was buying albums. I still have some of their newer stuff but it's mainly whatever made the radio. I had two of their albums though so that should tell you that I really liked them.

I close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away

Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way

[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]

In cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay

Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple
Sometimes goodbye's the only way

[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you

And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey

And the sun will set for you

Thnks fr th mmrs by Fall Out Boy

That's not a misspelling. I haven't reverted to a teenager. That's the actual title. I'm just glad they don't sing it like that. I have a couple of their songs on my playlist. I'm not a huge fan of theirs but I'm sure if I took the time to listen to some albums of theirs, I would probably add more.

I'm gonna make you bend and break
(it sent you to me without wings)
Say a prayer but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show
(let the good times roll, let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life
"Who does he think he is?"
If that's the worst you got
Better put your fingers back to the keys

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter, "
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories
"See, he tastes like you only sweeter."

Been looking forward to the future
But my eyesight is going bad
And this crystal ball
Is always cloudy except for (except for)
When you look into the past (look into the past)
One night stand (one night stand off)

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories
"See, he tastes like you only sweeter."

They say I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms collecting page six lovers
Get me out of my mind and get you out of those clothes
I'm a liner away from getting you into the mood, whoa

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter."
One night, (oh!) yeah, (oh!) and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories
"See, he tastes like you only sweeter."

One night and one more time (one more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"he tastes like you only sweeter." (oh)
One night, yeah, and one more time (one more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories (thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories)
"see, he tastes like you only sweeter." (oh)

Automatic by the Pointer Sisters

Let's face it, we all love the part where the ladies sing automatic, and then the really low voice says it. This blog is helping me appreciate songs that I listen to all the time even more then just a tune. This was another song that I really liked back in the day and hearing it today reminded me of that.

Look what you're doing to me
I'm utterly at your whim
All of my defenses down

Your camera looks through me
With its X-ray vision
And all systems run aground
All I can manage to push from my lips
Is a stream of absurdities
Every word I intended to speak
Winds up locked in a circuitry

No way to control it
It's totally automatic
Whenever you're around

I'm walking blindfolded
Completely automatic
All of my systems are down
Down, down, down
Automatic (automatic)
Automatic (automatic)

What is this madness
That makes my motor run
And my legs too weak to stand
I go from sadness to exhilaration
Like a robot at your command

My hands perspire
And shake like a leaf
Up and down goes my temperature
I summon doctors to get some relief
But they tell me there is no cure
They tell me

No way to control it
It's totally automatic
Whenever you're around

I'm walking blindfolded
Completely automatic
All of my systems are down
Down, down, down
Automatic (automatic)
Automatic (automatic)

Automatic, automatic
Automatic, automatic

Look what you're doing to me
I'm utterly at your whim
All of my defenses down

Your camera looks through me
With its X-ray vision
And all systems run aground

All I can manage to push from my lips
Is a stream of absurdities
Every word I intended to speak
Wind up locked in the circuitry

No way to control it
It's totally automatic
Whenever you're around

I'm walking blindfolded
Completely automatic
All of my systems are down
Down, down, down

No way to control it
It's totally automatic
Whenever you're around

I'm walking blindfolded
Completely automatic
All of my systems are down
Down, down, down

No way to control it
It's totally automatic
Whenever you're around

I'm walking blindfolded
Completely automatic
All of my systems are down
Down, down, down
Automatic (automatic)
Automatic (automatic)

Two 80s songs in a row, could it be a trend? I have a huge variety of genre's on my playlist but I'm starting to feel that the majority of the songs are only a couple of genres. I knew this going in but I thought the songs would show up more spread out. I even have some genres not listed yet that haven't come up yet.

Keep On Loving You by REO Speedwagon

Technically, this isn't the last song of the day but the next to last song of the day. Crazy Train by Ozzie Osbourne came on last but it was already done on this blog.

REO Speedwagon has a lot of great music, this is only one of them. It's not my favorite by them but it is certainly up there on the list. I don't think I would have thought of this as a 1980 release, it seems like it was more mid 80's but that was a long time ago and I'm old and forgetful.

You should've seen by the look in my eyes, baby
There was somethin missin
You should've known by the tone of my voice, maybe
But you didn't listen
You played dead
But you never bled
Instead you lay still in the grass
All coiled up and hissin
And though I know all about those men
Still I don't remember
Cause it was us baby, way before then
And we're still together
And I meant, every word I said
When I said that I love you I meant
That I love you forever

[Chorus:]
And I'm gonna keep on lovin you
Cause it's the only thing I wanna do
I don't wanna sleep
I just wanna keep on lovin you

[Solo]

And I meant every word I said
When I said that I love you I meant
That I love you forever

[Chorus]

  • This is the 63rd song on this blog.
  • This is the first song by REO Speedwagon on this blog.
  • This is the fourth song released in 1980 on this blog.
  • This is the thirteenth song listed in the 80's genre on this blog.
I'm going out of town this weekend so I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to post while I'm away, schedule some posts or just put the blog away for the weekend. We are going camping so I won't exactly have my laptop right there. Sure, I could take it and run some wifi off my phone and come up with a post each evening. Not sure if I want to though. Technically, there won't be a last song of my day because when I camp, I'm usually in the tent by myself so I fall asleep with my headphones on so my "last" song will be when I shut it off when I wake up. We'll see what I do.
