If Ever Your In My Arms Again by Peabo Bryson

There isn't an 80's playlist of love songs without this song. This was a staple of the 80's.

It all came so easy
All the lovin' you gave me
The feelings we shared
And I still can remember
How your touch was so tender
It told me you cared

We had a once in a lifetime
But I just couldn't see
Until' it was gone
A second once in a lifetime
May be too much to ask
But I swear from now on

If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end

Now I'm seen clearly
How I still need you near me
I still love you so
There's something between us
That won't ever leave us
There's no letting go
(No letting go)

We had a once in a lifetime
But I just didn't know it
'Til my life fell apart
A second once in a lifetime
Isn't too much to ask
'Cause I swear from the heart

If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end, never end

The best of romances
Deserve second chances
I'll get to you somehow
'Cause I promise now

If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end

If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end

If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll love you much better
If ever you're in my arms again
This time I'll hold you forever
This time we'll never end
If ever you're in my arms again

Say You'll Haunt Me by Stone Sour

I like a few of Stone Sours older songs so I went to their page at one point and added some more that I enjoyed. That's where this song came in so I haven't heard it a bunch yet, but enough to enjoy it.

Little supernovas in my head
Little soft pulses in my dead
Little souvenirs and secrets shared
Little off guard and unprepared

I was never good enough to find
I was never bad enough to mind
In the middle I will do my best
Take me in your arms and leave the rest

I will give you anything to

Say you want to stay, you want me to
Say you'll never die, you'll always haunt me
I want to know I belong to you
Say you'll haunt me

Together, together we'll be together, together forever

Little variations on my page
Little doors open on my cage
Little time has come and gone so far
Little by little who you are

I can see the patterns on your face
I can see the miracles I trace
Symmetry in shadows I can't hide
I JUST WANT TO BE RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE

I will give you everything to

Say you want to stay you want me too
Say you'll never die, you'll always haunt me
I want to know I belong to you
Say you'll haunt me
[2x]

Together, together we'll be together, together forever
I BELONG TO YOU
[2x]

Little supernovas in my head
Little soft pulses in my dead
Little souvenirs and secrets shared
Little off guard and unprepared

I will give you anything to
I will give you everything to

Say you want to stay you want me too
Say you'll never die you'll always haunt me
I want to know I belong to you
Say you'll haunt me
[2x]

Together, together we'll be together, together forever
I BELONG TO YOU
[2x]

The Sex Is Good by Saving Abel

I have a few of their songs here, if I took the time to listen to more of theirs, I would probably add some more but I haven't yet. For the second day in a row, the actual last song had been already used. This was the next song up.

You know all my deepest secrets
I think you know
You know to keep 'em
But I wonder if you know
I hate sleeping alone

So come and tell me what my kiss tastes like
Don't wanna miss it
So turn off the lights
But I wonder if you know
I hate sleeping alone

I have to fake it
I leave if I could
I'm not in love
But the sex is good
You can't mistake it
Because it's understood
I'm not in love
But the sex is good (yeahhh, mhm!)

You got to know
Know my weakness
You always touch
In all the right places
We don't get along that well
Not much for talk
But you're hot as hell

I have to fake it
I leave if I could
I'm not in love
But the sex is good
You can't mistake it
Because it's understood
I'm not in love
But the sex is good (yeahhh mhm! yeahhh mhm!)

It's not like
I wanna stick around
It's just tonight
I'm gonna lay you down (yeahhh)

So now you know
What my kiss tastes like
So in the morning
I say goodbye
But I wonder
If you know
I hate sleeping alone

I have to fake it
I leave if I could
I'm not in love
But the sex is good
You can't mistake it
Because it's understood
I'm not in love
But the sex is good

I have to fake it
I leave if I could
I'm not in love
But the sex is good
You can't mistake it
Because it's understood
I'm not in love
But the sex is good (yeahhh mhm! yeahhh mhm!)

Straight Up by Paula Abdul

Paula definitely has some 80's hits on this blog. I don't know how many albums she had but this is the only one I can personally think of.

Lost in a dream
Don't know which way to go
If you are all that you seem
Then baby I'm movin' way too slow

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
How about some information--please

[Chorus:]
Straight up now tell me
Do you really want to love me forever oh oh oh
Or am I caught in a hit and run

Straight up now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together oh oh oh
Are you just having fun

Time's standing still
Waiting for some small clue
I keep getting chills
When I think your love is true

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
How about some information--please

[Chorus:]
Straight up now tell me
Do you really want to love me forever oh oh oh
Or am I caught in a hit and run
Straight up now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together oh oh oh
Are you just having fun

You are so hard to read
You play hide and seek
With your true intentions
If you're only playing games
I'll just have to say--bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye

Do do you love me
Do do you love me
Do do you love me
Do do you love me ?

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
Are you more than hot for me
Or am I a page in your history-book

I don't mean to make demands
But the word and the deed go hand in hand
How about some information--please

[Chorus cont.]

I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught
In the slammin' door
Are you more than hot for me
Or am I a page in your history-book
I don't mean to make demands
But the word and the deed go hand in hand
How about some information--please

[Chorus out]

Sledgehammer by Postmodern Jukebox

You read the title right and yes, it's that song, but yet, it's not. I don't remember how I ran across Postmodern Jukebox but I'm glad I did. I ended up listening to pretty much every cover they had on Spotify and selected a number of songs to add to the playlist. I'm not sure what genre to list them but I guess I'm going with Jazz.

You could have a steam train
If you'd just lay down your tracks
You could have an aeroplane flying
If you bring your blue skies back

All you do is call me
I'll be anything you need

You could have a big dipper
Going up and down, all around the bends
You could have a bumper car, bumping
This amusement never ends

I wanna be your sledgehammer
Why don't you call my name?
Oh, you'd better call the sledgehammer
And this will be my testimony

Sledge, sledge, sledgehammer

Show me 'round your fruit cage
And I will be your honey bee
Open up your fruit cage
Where the fruit is sweet as can be

I wanna be your sledgehammer
Why don't you call my name?
Oh, you'd better call the sledgehammer
And there will be no doubt about it

Sledge, sledge, sledgehammer

I've kicked the habit (I've kicked the habit)
Shed my skin (shed my skin)
You know this is the new stuff (this is the new stuff)
I go dancing in (I go dancing in)

Oh, won't you show for me? (show for me)
And I will show for you (show for you)
Please, show for me (show for me)
And I will show for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I do mean you
Only you (I've kicked the habit)
You've been comin' through
We're gonna build that power (shed my skin)
Build, build up that power

Oh, feedin' the rhythm (this is the new stuff)
I've been feedin' the rhythm
Gonna feel that power, yeah build in you
Come on, come on, help me do
Come on, come on, help me do
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I've been feedin' the rhythm
I've been feedin' the rhythm
This can be my testimony

Can I Get A Witness by DC Talk

This is the 3rd song from this album and it's probably my least favorite album of theirs. Guess that just goes to show you how much I like DC Talk.

This album is listed on my albums owned page.

This artist is on my Concerts Seen page.

This artist is listed on my 20+ page.

I rap for Christ, no crossin' the line
I don't water down lyrics or forget the spine
I gotta come bold, cause I've been sold
On the Word that'll never grow old
Ya see, I was raised in a Godly home
And I was taught as a child who is on the throne
I learned to have faith and I learned to stand
Up for the Father, who is in command
Ya know, back in the day, I was taught to pray
Ya see, a livin' God would have it no other way
I wanna know who's down with what I say
Yo fellas, there's no time to play, so get busy

Can I get a witness
Does anyone agree?
Can I get a witness
To stand for their belief?
Can I get a witness
To carry on the torch?
Bring honor to the Father
Give glory to the Lord

Who's in the army, who's servin' the King?
Callin' all brothers to the center ring
We're in one accord, we're servin' the Lord
Eternal life is our reward
We gotta come together and build morale
Yo, what are ya waitin' for, the time is now
I gotta ask y'all, do I stand alone?
I need a second motion on the microphone
Can I get a witness to what you've heard
I need a posse to give me da word (word!)
Jump on my back, let's kill the hype, boys
I need a witness for Jesus Christ

Can I get a witness
Does anyone agree?
Can I get a witness
To stand for their belief?
Can I get a witness
To carry on the torch?
Bring honor to the Father
Give glory to the Lord

Don't stand for me or for dc Talk
Til ya know in your heart that we ain't the bulk
We're just three young brothers
Who were willin' to serve
Took a stand, threw the devil a curve
By usin' our talent for the almighty Lord
When He gave us a gift, He gave us a chore
Called the Great Commission, it's like fishin'
But souls are the goal of this Christian mission
Claim to be willin', yo, let it be known
Don't hide ya faith like a dog on a bone
We need a soldier who's got it in check
And a fit witness who's full in effect

Can I get a witness
Does anyone agree?
Can I get a witness
To stand for their belief?
Can I get a witness
To carry on the torch?
Bring honor to the Father
Give glory to the Lord

Can I get a witness
Does anyone agree?
Can I get a witness
To stand for their belief?
Can I get a witness
To carry on the torch?
Bring honor to the Father
Give glory to the Lord

I gotta say a few
Can I get a witness?
I'm talkin' about a witness for Jesus Christ
Y'all know what I'm sayin'?
It's time to get busy people
It's time to get busy out there
Servin' your Lord and Savior
Yo, He's askin' you now, "Can I get a witness?"
If y'all know what's up with that
If you down with this movement
I need some help
I need somebody to get my back out there
Because Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior
Cold did it for us
Now it's our turn to return this favor
And cold do it for Him
Ya know what I'm sayin'?

Fade to Black by Metallica

I mean, it's Metallica, you know it's going to on here. This is the 2nd of a bunch of their songs. This is one of my favorites of their's, I enjoy the slow pace and then in jams for a bit. I like the back and forth.

Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else

I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free

Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel

Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now he's gone

No one but me can save myself, but it's too late
Now I can't think, think why I should even try

Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye

I Was Here by Beyonce

This is 1 of only 2 songs that I have of Beyonce. I'm not a huge fan but the 2 songs I do have, I love.

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I wanna say I lived each day, until I die
And know that I meant something in somebody's life
The hearts I have touched will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because

I was here

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I wanna leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved
I was here
I did (I did), I've done
I was here
I lived (I lived), I loved (I loved)
I was here (oh)
I did, I've done

I was here

Goodbye by Above Only

I don't know much about this song or the group. As far as I can tell, this is their only album but I do like this song.

I was out of town for a bit which is why the blog stalled for a few days. I'm going to post a few songs today to make up for it.

Just slow down you're living too fast
This will all just be a memory, you can never get back
It's time to see the world through new eyes
Giving the best of me for the rest of my life
But just like they say it can be taken away

Live life with no regret
Love like you're scared to death
Of never finding the one you should have met
Smile when you're passing by, look your fear in the eyes
And take advantage of the time left in our lives
Before we have to say goodbye

Stop and think of where it's all gone
It's like we're standing still but time keeps moving on
Just as fast as it begun this will all be said and done
Are you gonna stand by or for once in your life

Live life with no regret
Love like you're scared to death
Of never finding the one you should have met
Smile when you're passing by, look your fear in the eyes
And take advantage of the time left in our lives
Before we have to say goodbye

And when you get older look over your shoulder
And you can see all the life that we had
But it's not what's behind you
It's about what's inside you
Don't you ever forget that
Just like they say it can be taken away

Live life with no regret
Love like you're scared to death
Of never finding the one you should have met
Live life with no regret
Love like you're scared to death
Of never finding the one you should have met
Smile when you're passing by, look your fear in the eyes
And take advantage of the time left in our lives
Before we have to say
Before we have to say it
Before we have to say goodbye

Live life with no regret
Love like you're scared to death
Of never finding the one you should have met
Before we have to say goodbye

Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin

2nd classic rock in a row. I do have a number of Led Zeppelin songs on here, I couldn't tell you how many off the top of my head even though they are before my time for the most part.

You need coolin' baby, I'm not foolin'
I'm going to send you back to schoolin'
Way down inside honey, you need it
I'm going to give you my love
I'm going to give you my love

Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love

You've been learning, baby, I've been yearning
All them good times, baby, baby, I've been learning
Way, way down inside honey, you need it
I'm gonna give you my love... I'm going to give you my love

Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love
Want a whole lotta love

Dream On by Aerosmith

This is my favorite song by Aerosmith and until now, I didn't realize it was from their first album. I knew it was from 1973, just not their 1st album.

Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone, it went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way, everybody got the dues in life to pay
I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life's in books written pages
Lived and learned from fools and from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord'll take you away

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord'll take you away

Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream come true

Dream on, dream on
Dream on, dream on
Dream on, dream on
Dream on

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord'll take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord'll take you away

Everybody Hurts by REM

Love this song. I've never needed it for motivation or anything but it is a great song for a lot of people.

When your day is long
And the night, the night is yours alone
When you're sure you've had enough
Of this life, well hang on

Don't let yourself go
'Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong
Now it's time to sing along
When your day is night alone (Hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go (Hold on)
If you think you've had too much
Of this life, well hang on

Everybody hurts
Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts
Don't throw your hand, oh no

Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone
No, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life
The days and nights are long
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody cries
Everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes

So hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts

I Don't Wanna Stop by Ozzy Osbourne

This is one of Ozzy's newer songs compared to most of his hits and pretty much all of his songs on there.

I don't know what they're talking about
I'm making my own decisions
This thing that I found ain't gonna bring me down
I'm like a junkie without an addiction

Mama don't cry I just wanna stay high
I like playing with danger and fear
Everybody's walkin' but nobody's talkin'
It looks a lot better from here

All my life I've been over the top
I don't know what I'm doing all I know is I don't wanna stop
All fired up, I'm gonna go 'til I drop
You're either in or in the way, don't make me I don't wanna stop

Why don't they ever listen to me
It's just a one way conversation
Nothing they say is gonna set me free
Don't need no mental masturbation

Too many religions but only one god
I don't need another saviour
Don't try to change my mind
You know I'm one of a kind
Ain't gonna change my bad behaviour

All my life I've been over the top
I don't know what I'm doing all I know is I don't wanna stop
All fired up, I'm gonna go 'til I drop
You're either in or in the way, don't make me I don't wanna stop
All my life I've been over the top
I don't know what I'm doing all I know is I don't wanna stop
All fired up, I'm gonna go 'til I drop
You're either in or in the way, don't make me I don't wanna stop

I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop
I don't wanna stop

All my life I've been over the top
I don't know what I'm doing all I know is I don't wanna stop
All fired up, I'm gonna go 'til I drop
You're either in or in the way, don't make me I don't wanna stop
All my life I've been over the top
I don't know what I'm doing all I know is I don't wanna stop

Re-Align by Godsmack

I finally got a Godsmack song. On my 20+ page at the bottom is the listings of anyone who I have between 15-20 songs and I have had everyone listed but Godsmack. I guess it's only fitting since this is my 300th song.

Decisions made from desperation
No way to go
Internal instincts craving isolation
For me to grow

My fears come alive
In this place where I once died
Demons dreaming
Knowing I...I just needed to realign

Fell in a river of illusion
And apathy
Drowning in a self-induced confusion
I'd rather be
Yeah!

My fears come alive
In this place where I once died
Demons dreaming
Knowing I...I just needed to realign

My fears come alive
In this place where I once died
Demons dreaming
Knowing I...I just needed to realign

Yeah!

Yeah! [4x]

My fears come alive
In this place where I once died
Demons dreaming
Knowing I...I just needed to realign

My fears come alive
In this place where I once died
Demons dreaming
Knowing I...I just needed to realign
Yeah!

Say Goodbye To Hollywood by Billy Joel

You will definitely see plenty of Billy Joel on this blog. I had his 2 disc greatest hits CD's and listened to them all the time back in the day. This is the 2nd song in a row from the 70's.

Bobby's drivin' through the city tonight
Through the lights in a hot new rent-a-car
He joins the lovers in his heavy machine
It's a scene down on Sunset Boulevard
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye to my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye to my baby

Johnny's takin' care of things for a while
And his style is so right for troubadours
They got him sitting with his back to the door
Now he won't be my fast gun anymore
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby

Movin' on is a chance that you take
Any time you try to stay together
Whoa
Say a word out of line
And you find that the friends you had
Are gone forever
Forever

So many faces in and out of my life
Some will last
Some will just be now and then
Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes
I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby

Movin' on is a chance that you take
Any time you try to stay together
Whoa
Say a word out of line
And you find that the friends you had
Are gone forever
Forever

So many faces in and out of my life
Some will last
Some will just be now and then
Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes
I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby
Say goobye to Hollywood
Say goodbye my baby

Time For Me To Fly by REO Speedwagon

I have never heard of this album. Well, let me rephrase, I've heard the title but never knew it was an album title. I also thought this song was from the 80's but it was apparently just a touch before. I guess you learn something new everyday.

I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough

I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

[Refrain:]
Time for me to fly
Oh, I've got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And that's just how it's got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But it's time for me to fly

Oh, don't you know it's...
[Refrain]

It's time for me to fly
[Repeat to end]
